SEVEN budding actors will be treading the boards in Christmas pantomimes across the county. Arts Theatre School students in Chislehurst will be performing in festive shows in Maidstone, Chatham and Gravesend this year.

Beaverwood School pupils Collette Coster, 13, and Victoria and Rebecca Coster, 12, will appear in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Hazlitt Arts Centre, Maidstone alongside Hollyoaks hunk Jake Hendriks. Leah Rutherford, 13, from Coopers Technology College in Chislehurst and Red Hill Primary pupil Ella Rutherford, nine, will appear in Cinderella at the Central Theatre, Chatham alongside EastEnders actor Joe Swash.

Also from Red Hill Primary, Callum Holbrook-Wilson, 10, and Ronnie Rutherford, 10, will be playing dwarves in Snow White at Woodville Halls, Gravesend.

Former Brookside actress Lucy Morgans, who set up the school in 2003, said: "I am so proud that our pupils have the opportunity to take part in pantomimes, they auditioned against hundreds of children and we just could not believe it when seven of our children were successful in winning roles. The children are really excited and can't wait to start rehearsals. During my career I have taken roles in 14 pantos and they have been an excellent training ground which has opened many doors.
