A HYPNOTIST has written a book which teaches people how to put themselves under a trance.
Marcus D'Silva, 48, who practises in Bromley, wrote How to Change Your Life with the Amazing Secrets of Hypnosis in a bid to teach people self-hypnosis.
He said: "I thought I would write a book that was accessible, as a lot of books around on the subject are not that easy to understand.
"I am a big believer in self-hypnosis and I use it myself. It is a life tool.
"Hypnosis is not about swinging clocks or running around the stage. It is something that happens with your imagination.
"I have personally used it to control my stress levels, to increase creativity and to control my weight.
"Just sitting down for 20 minutes and relaxing inwards can greatly increase your creativity."
In the book he advises readers on how to start reducing daily stress immediately and explains why trying to relax can make people even more tense.
Mr D'Silva wrote another book two years ago entitled Weight Loss: The Forgotten Secret - 42 Powerful Ways to Get Slim and Stay Slim with the New Self-hypnosis.
He said: "To be honest, hypnosis is also a hobby of mine. I love reading books on it or anything to do with self-improvement."
The author's interest in the field began in 1989 when he opened a floating tank therapy centre in Bromley where clients would relax and meditate in a tank of salted water.
He currently practises hypnosis at the Centre for Counselling Training and Therapy in Widmore Road, Bromley.
His new book, published on June 29, is priced £11.99 and available from www.amazon.co.uk or most bookshops.
