Woman threatened with gun wrapped in plastic bag during Penge armed robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery.

The robbery took place at Ladbrokes in High Street, Penge at 10pm on June 1.

A female member of staff was about to close the betting shop when a man came in and threatened her with what is believed to be a hand gun in a plastic bag.

The suspect, described as a black man in his early to mid 20s around 6ft tall, made off with cash.

He was wearing a black puffa jacket, black hoody, black trousers, a scarf over his face and yellow washing up gloves. He was also carrying a black Nike bag.

Det Const Chris Goddard of the MPS Flying Squad said: “I would appeal to anyone with knowledge that would assist police in identifying the robbers to come forward and speak with us.”
