LEISURE centre staff have joined a government campaign to help residents to exercise and keep warm this winter.

Downham Health and Leisure Centre is supporting an initiative to reach local people this year with vital winter warming advice.

Hundreds of "Keep Warm, Keep Well" leaflets will be distributed as the colder weather sets in, giving top tips on staying active, eating well and keeping warm.

Downham Health and Leisure Centre Manager, Paul Cox said: "This campaign has some excellent advice on the health and well-being benefits of staying active Just 30 minutes a day of physical exercise will help to increase your energy levels, control your weight, reduce stress and improve sleep patterns.
