Movie house celebrates first 365 days
Orpington’s Odeon cinema has welcomed more than 345,000 movie-goers since it opened a year ago this week.
During that time the theatre in the Walnuts Shopping Centre has hosted more than 12,000 film screenings.
And the most popular movie in its first year? Bridget Jones’ Baby. Followed by the live action version of the Jungle Book, animated Finding Dory and the super-hero slugfest that was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Animated Sing came fifth.
“The response to the new cinema has been incredible,” said general manager Stephen Snell. “We’re so proud of what we’ve achieved in only our first year of business in the heart of the community and look forward to continuing to welcome guests for many years to come.”
