West Wickham bank robber jailed after 12 year spree

A West Wickham bank robber was jailed for 20 years last week following a 12 year crime spree that netted more than half a million pounds.
Emmet Wynne, 48, of Wilmar Gardens, pleaded guilty to a number of charges relating to robbery, and including conspiracy to rob and firearms offences.
He was arrested along with Robert Hall, 48, and Ian Knight, 51, as they prepared to rob a Santander bank in North Cheam earlier this year.
Mr Wynne was carrying a bag loaded with a Walther PPK pistol, a Taser, five rounds of live ammunition and a latex “old man” style mask.
During the day he would walk his dog but at night he spent his time casing banks.
Then they targeted guards as they refilled cash machines.
Det Ch Insp Paul Johnson, of the Flying Squad, said: “This was a well organised team of armed robbers whose meticulous planning and otherwise normal lives managed to keep them under the radar for so many years
