AN ART competition has been launched to give older people an opportunity to exhibit their work at a renowned gallery.

The Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) is giving people aged over 60 the chance to exhibit their artwork at London's Mall Galleries and win £1,000. Amateur artists have until October 26 to submit drawings, photographs, paintings, sculptures and needlework. The EAC over-60s art awards are supported by broadcaster Joan Bakewell. Approximately 100 finalists' work will be included in the EAC's exhibition, which runs from December 2.
