PARTICIPANTS are required to take part in an unusual race.
The 'carry or drag something ridiculous to Brighton walk, jog or run' is the brainchild of James Laffar who wanted to do something more challenging than the London marathon.
The rules are that each object must weigh at least 10kg and be carried or dragged from Keston Common to Brighton, a distance of around 50 miles.
Resting periods must be no longer than 20 minutes.
Mr Laffar has been training for the challenge already.
He said: "I try to complete some kind of physical challenge every year and have previously undertaken a bike ride from London to Cornwall, and a few long distance runs including the London Marathon.
"I have wanted to start attempting more challenging events but most either have a long waiting list or cost too much. I decided to start creating my own, and plan to make them on a more regular basis from now on."
Participants who have already signed up are carrying or dragging a range of objects including a set of weights, a lorry tyre and cans of paint.
The event gets under way on May 2 and should take roughly 20 hours to complete.
Proceeds raised will go to the Dreams Come True charity - which grants wishes to terminally ill children.
