VOTERS are gearing up for this year's general election, with the borough recording the third highest electoral registration figure in London.

The proportion of Bromley's residents registered to vote in 2010 elections is 97.38 per cent.

Carol Ling, the council's electoral services manager, said: "It is fantastic to see so many residents getting ready to exercise their democratic right to vote.

"And it's still not too late to get on the electoral register, thanks to our rolling registration process."

The council's electoral register is updated monthly between January and September.

To register in time for a May or June election, forms must be received by March 10, to be added to the register by April 1.
