WORLD champion triple jumper Jonathan Edwards celebrated with graduates of an Olympics scheme aimed at encouraging people in to work.

A special ceremony for the Personal Best scheme, trialled in Bromley, to help disadvantaged people gain qualifications and employment, was held at Wembley Stadium last Monday night.

Houzar Mustafa, from Bromley, is a graduate of the scheme which will now be rolled out across all the London boroughs.

London Mayor Boris Johnson said: "I congratulate all those who have worked so hard to graduate through Personal Best and I am pleased that Londoners from every borough will now be able to benefit from this important programme."

It is hoped the scheme, run by the London Development Agency (LDA) will help around 7,000 people gain their first qualification and obtain job skills through a nationally recognised qualification in volunteering.
