Sherome Blair is believed to be the man who was found dead

The victim of a shooting on Sydenham Hill last month has been named locally as Sherome Blair.

The man - in his 30s - died in bushes at the scene from gunshot wounds on August 21. A firearm was found by police near to the victim’s body.

Although there has been no formal identification of the victim, tributes which have been left at the place the body was found indicate that it is Sherome Blair. His family are believed to have left tributes at the scene as well.

A tribute video to Mr Blair has also been posted online showing pictures of the young man. Its creator named Drummer Vali wrote ‘Sherome Blair, RIP my brother’ while others have paid tribute to the victim in the comments.

One of the messages left by a mourner says: “I am so very sad you have left us all so soon.

“I welcomed you into our family as a son and words cannot express the void.”
