Delays of 15 minutes are being reported

The wind and rain battering Bromley this morning has caused major disruption to Southern rail services.

A tree has been blown on to the tracks at Brockley, blocking southbound Metro services between New Cross Gate and Forest Hill.

Passengers have been advised to travel from New Cross to Sydenham, meaning trains in the north of the borough could be busier than normal.

But fresh delays are now being caused by a fallen tree between Sydenham and Crystal Palace, blcoking the line in both directions.

Southern claim it is in the process of moving the trees, but warned “services from London Victoria, London Bridge and Beckenham Junction and east and west Croydon will be severely impacted.”

Tickets are currently being accepted on London buses, and the rail firm has apologised for any disruption caused.
