Two new food stores open in Bromley

Pupils from Athelney School and St John’s Baptist School attended the official opening.

Following an investment of £580,000, a new Co-operative food store opened on Bromley Road, Bellingham, last week.

The new convenience store, which has a sales area of around 2,500 sq ft, will create 15 new jobs.

Another new Co-operative food store also opened on Farwig Lane, Bromley after an investment of £860,000.

It has a sales area of around 2,500 sq ft, and has created 18 new jobs.

The stores have also appointed a “community pioneer” as part of a new programme that sees a member of the store team with an additional remit to foster a strong involvement in community activity, from volunteering opportunities to helping develop solutions to meet local needs.
