A FORMER councillor and his wife had a triple celebration this month as 2009 marks their 63rd anniversary and both of their 90th birthdays.

Susan and Brian Taylor of Blackbrook Lane, Chislehurst, threw a double birthday party and anniversary celebration on May 2 attended by more than 70 friends including Lord and Lady Avebury, Simon Highes MP and Bromley deputy mayor Brenda Thompson.

Their three children, five grandchildren and one great grand-daughter marked the event with poems, songs and anecdotes.

The couple have lived in the area since 1948, first moving to Hayes where Mr Taylor ran a dental practice for nearly 30 years.

Both Liberal Democrats since 1955, Mr Taylor sat on Bromley council for the Keston and Hayes ward in the late 1950s and 1960s.

Mrs Taylor, whose birthday was on May 4, was delighted to receive a phone call from Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg to offer his congratulations.

They were founder members of Bromley town twinning and have been involved with the Bromley Forum for older people, Age Concern and meals on wheels.

Mrs Taylor also ran a WRVS over 60s club for 20 years.
