A TRANSEXUAL was sent to a women's prison for three years after admitting using a picture of a teenage girl on a sex website.
Trevor Bentley, who changed his name to Tanya after a sex-change operation, was jailed for three years on Monday after admitting he had put a picture of a 14-year-old Orpington girl's picture and full address on the internet.
The 52-year-old of Eton Way, Dartford, had online chats with other people pretending he was the girl.
Prosecuting, Subhanker Banerjee said at Croydon Crown Court: "He had taken photos of the girl when she was on holiday. They were ordinary pictures but they had a sexual motive. Later he showed them on a web page of a particularly sexual character."
The pictures were tampered with to make the girl appear naked and appeared on multiple websites stating where she lived.
All this was going on without the girl's knowledge until a man who had driven up from Cornwall was spotted hanging around outside the house.
This man realised that the girl he was after was under age, and he phoned the parents to tell them what was going on.
Bentley, who was wearing a short black dress and black tights in court, was arrested on a charge of incitement to sexual assault. He was bailed but was soon at it again.
There were three more arrests and granting of bail, during all of which he was back in front of his computer knocking out images of the girl and pretending to be her. Bentley had the sex-change op three weeks ago, and Judge Warwick McKinnon said she would have to go to a women's jail.
Defending, James Boyle said Bentley had a biological weakness and had been getting treatment
The judge told father-of-two: "Taking pictures of a girl on holiday and then touching them up to make her look naked is a breach of trust, and to put her name and address on the net is extraordinary."
Bentley, whose marriage has broken up, pleaded guilty to incitement to sexual assault and making indecent images of children
Also in the dock was 37-year-old Lawrence Scott, of Swanton Abbott Road, Westwick, Norwich, who pleaded guilty to one charge of distribution of pictures of the girl which he had seen on Bentley's websites. Scott, a former IT manager at a school, was jailed for a year.
