Delays are expected to continue until 5pm

A lorry has struck a bridge in Petts Wood causing major train disruptions on the Grove Park and Bromley South lines.

Southeastern released the following statement: “Train services running between Orpington and London may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 5pm.

“A lorry struck a railway bridge just outside Petts Wood station and trains were not able to run over the bridge until it was examined by engineers. These checks have now been completed and all lines have been reopened.

“Trains between these stations are being disrupted as a result of earlier line closure, and some trains may still be cancelled while normal service is restored.”

Travellers are able to use tickets at no extra cost on London buses between Bromley South, Petts Wood, and Orpington.
