CLASSES that help tots improve their language skills have scooped a national award.

Talking Tots, based in Bromley, Beckenham and West Wickham, won the Best Innovation category in the What's on 4 Little Ones awards - celebrating the best pre-school activities in the country.

The classes, that use fun activities to help children aged one to four develop their social, language and literacy skills, were launched in the borough by West Wickham resident Nicola Byers.

Ms Byers, 33, said: "It is incredible to see the development in the children, even over a few weeks. I love taking the classes and it is clear in the faces of the children that they love coming - and they don't even realise they're learning!

"I'm so pleased Talking Tots has received this award.
