The airport has partnered up with London South East Colleges

Plans for a brand new aviation college at Biggin Hill airport were announced last week.

London Biggin Hill Airport has teamed up with London South East Colleges to create the shared ambition, which could see the new college take off within in the next decade.

Prince Michael of Kent was present to hear the news, during a visit to the airport as patron of the British Business and General Aviation Association.

The new college will be called London Aerospace and Technology College.

With a global shortage in aero-engineers, the new college will provide attention on training mechanical, electronic and service engineers as well as technicians.

Bromley council is also part of plans to create the new state-of-the-art facility, which will hope to nurture local talent into the industry.
