The new TK Maxx store opened in Orpington this morning.

Staff were greeted by queues of eager shoppers looking to find the first bargains at the store, in Cray Avenue.

The first 500 customers through the door were given a £10 gift card to spend on items in-store, including men and women’s fashion, as well as homeware.

Speaking prior to the opening, Helen Gunter, a store spokesman, said: “We are very excited to be opening up a new store and bringing Orpington shoppers savings of up to 60 per cent off the RRP on great brands and labels for all the family under one roof.”

The store has provided 80 new jobs.
