Time running out to enter Crystal Palace Race for Life

PUBLISHED: 16:07 05 June 2013 | UPDATED: 16:07 05 June 2013

There are just two weeks remaining for women to sign up for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life event at Crystal Palace stadium.

More than 2,000 women have already pledged to run the 5k on Sunday, June 23 and there are less than 600 places remaining.

Last year around 2,500 women took part in the event in Crystal Palace and helped to raise more than £200,000 for Cancer Research UK, with organisers hoping to hit the same target this time round.

Event manager, Fiona Murray, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that so many women have entered Race for Life in Crystal Palace. But we still have places left so we are urging women to sign up as soon as possible.

“There’s no need to worry about being fit or fast. It doesn’t matter if you walk, jog or even dance your way around the course.

“There are over 200 cancers and we won’t give up until we find cures for them all. It’s fighting talk, and we mean every word we say.”
