A THIRD teenager charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy is due to appear in court today (Thursday)

The 16-year-old suspect will appear before Camberwell Green Magistrates accused of stabbing to death Nicholas Pearton, from Sydenham, on May 5.

Police said the teen, who was studying a vocational course, was chased by up to 10 youths following a fight in Home Park recreation ground in Winchfield Road, Sydenham.

Mr Pearton's mother Kim ran to the chicken shop where her son had sought refuge after being stabbed.

He died in hospital later, on what is believed to have been his father's birthday.

The teen was described as 'the brightest star there was' by friends. His sister Victoria, a former Bromley College student, said life "would not be the same" without her brother.

The 16-year-old was remanded in custody after being charged last Thursday.

He will appear today alongside a 16 and 17-year-old who were charged in May.
