A THIEF posing as a policeman stole a pizza restaurant's takings from a female worker's car.

The Pizza Express worker placed the £2,800 to be banked on the front seat of her car at approximately 3.30pm in Royal Parade, Chislehurst.

She was approached on September 1 by an Asian man dressed as a police officer, who told her that her vehicle had been reported stolen meaning he would have to check it.

The impostor, aged between 27 to 33, walked around the vehicle before opening the door, grabbing the bag and running off down Bull Lane.

He is believed to have left in a silver vehicle, possibly a Corsa or Fiesta.

He was described as being 5ft 9ins tall and he was wearing a black short sleeved shirt, black trousers, black shoes, a black stab vest with the Met Police logo on it and a radio attached to it.

The suspect was clean shaven and had short black hair and spoke with an English accent.
