A restaurant terrace celebrating its first birthday at The Glades shopping centre has reportedly brought in major footfall since it opened last summer.

The outdoor terrace, which opened in July last year, has seen 1,000,000 visitors since opening its doors to the public, bosses behind the Bromley High Street shopping centre claim.

Construction and restaurant jobs meant nearly 500 people were employed from its development, with four restaurants currently open at the site, which backs on to Queens Gardens.

General manager Kate Miller said: “Our intention with the restaurant terrace was to create a casual, family-friendly dining experience and that’s definitely been achieved this year.

“We’re always in talks with big brand names and independents alike to grow our food options at The Glades. I’m looking forward to announcing new arrivals in the future and to many more years of the terrace.”
