Get back on the saddle this summer as Skyride returns to Bromley for a series of guided bike rides for all cycling abilities.

There are eight planned events in the borough this year, following last year’s successful cycling campaign hosted by Bromley Council and British Cycling.

After triumph in the Velodrome and on the road in the London Olympics last year, cycling is arguably more popular than it has been in decades and residents now have a chance to test their skills on two wheels.

The next Skyride in Bromley takes place in Norman Park, in Hayes Lane, on Sunday, July 7 and will see a three mile route established.

That will be followed by further events in Beckenham on July 21, and in Crystal Palace Park on August 4.

Melissa Cazzato, Project co-ordinator said “These rides will certainly help you fall back in love with cycling again. Skyrides make it easy for anyone to take up cycling again and could be a fun free activity for all the family. Relive your childhood memories back in the saddle, sign up today.”

For those a little unsteady on their bikes, the council offers all year round training. To learn about cycle maintenance and safety, sign up to a comprehensive one day course at bromley.gov.uk/roadsafety.
