Tributes have been paid to a young man described as having an “appetite for fun” who was killed in a car accident.
Danny Love, 20, of Rushmore Hill, Knockholt, was killed last Thursday after his car overturned when it collided with a tree in Otford Lane, Halstead.
The apprentice heating engineer worked for EPS in New Mill Road, Orpington, in a “job that he loved” and had just passed his first year exams.
A statement from his family said that he said his “greatest accolade” was winning first place in Bromley’s boniest baby competition aged six weeks.
The statement, released on behalf of parents Kenny and Mandy and sister Joanna, added: “Danny was the sort of young man who was happy to be around people of all ages from the young children who adored him to the older generation. He had strong family values, unusual for someone his age, and he particularly loved his grandmother, often calling in for a cup of tea but more importantly to him, to check she was okay. He will be missed by many for his appetite for fun, never missing a beat of life, constantly meeting friends, all night every night.
“One message from a family friend reads ‘Danny had an infectious zest for life’, this is typical of the very many kind messages written by friends and family; most of which were directed towards the fun they have had with Danny during his relatively short life.
“Danny will be remembered by so many, and remembered forever by his parents Kenny and Mandy and sister Joanna. Danny will never be forgotten and in the words of one of his favourite songs he will remain Forever Young.”
Danny was also known for playing rugby, soccer, cricket and hockey, representing his former schools St Michael’s in Otford and Sutton Valence in Maidstone as well as playing for Sevenoaks Rugby Club for several years.
An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned on Tuesday. His friend of 13 years, Jack, who was travelling as a passenger in the car survived the accident and escaped without injury. A funeral for Mr Love is due to be held on August 20 at St Margaret’s Church, Halstead at 12.30pm.
