Police have launched a witness appeal

A teenager has died after a crash between a car and a moped in Hayes.

The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Baston Road, near the junction with Five Elms Road.

Police were called just before 4.30pm on Monday (December 5) and attended the scene alongside the ambulance service.

The driver of the car - a white Toyota Auris mini-cab - stopped at the scene. He was not arrested and has been assisting officers with their enquiries.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Catford Traffic Garage are investigating.
