Teenage biker killed after police chase

A-17-YEAR-OLD on a motorbike has died after being pursued by a police car.
Officers on patrol in a marked police vehicle in Leaves Green Road, Biggin Hill, noticed a scooter and motorcycle travelling at speed at 1.45am on Tuesday.
They followed the bikes with emergency lights and sirens on and signalled for the bikes to stop. The rider on a black Gilera Runner 200 pulled over.
The rider of a green Ninja Kawasaki, carried on and officers lost visual contact. Further along Leaves Green Road they found the teenager on the ground and the motorcycle further down the road. Officers gave medical assistance until London Ambulance Service arrived and took the rider to Princes Royal Hospital, Farnborough, who died at 3am.
Next of kin have been informed and at the time of going to press formal identification had not taken place. A post mortem will be arranged in due course.
The Department for Professional Standards are investigating.
