A SWIMMING club that has produced British Olympians has signed a sponsorship agreement with a shipping and marine company for an undisclosed 'four-figure deal'.
Beckenham Swimming Club, that has produced 18 Olympian swimmers in recent years and with high hopes for the London 2012 Games, has signed a deal with global shipping, logistics and marine company GAC Group.
The deal will lead to the GAC brand displayed on the club's website and printed materials as well as on members' swimwear and tracksuits when they compete nationally and internationally.
Chairman Richard Collins said: "We have coached 18 Olympians, four of which set new world records. We were the only London borough-based swimming club to send a representative to the Beijing Olympics last year - 17-year-old Ellen Gandy who competed in the 200 metres Butterfly event.
"We have five more members with the potential to duplicate Ellen's success in 2012, and GAC's support will help us achieve that goal."
William Hill, the GAC Group's vice president for logistics services, said: "GAC has built close relationships throughout the world of sport and our specialist GAC Sport Logistics arm recognises the time-critical nature of sporting events, meeting the needs of organisers and all of their partners, whether they are sponsors, teams, broadcasting, hospitality or merchandise companies.
