Suspected arson at factory

A DERELICT steelworks factory was set alight in a suspected arson attack. Three fire crews were called to the old Invicta Works in Chalk Pit Avenue, St Paul s Cray last Saturday (9) at around 6.40pm.

A DERELICT steelworks factory was set alight in a suspected arson attack.

Three fire crews were called to the old Invicta Works in Chalk Pit Avenue, St Paul's Cray last Saturday (9) at around 6.40pm.

The site, an old steel and paper works, has been closed for over a year and has repeatedly been targeted by arsonists. The Fire Brigade was called there on four occasions throughout 2008.

Chalk Pit Avenue was closed from the junction with Main Road until 10.40pm.
