A FAMOUS rock star swung by a school to give pupils a percussion master class they will never forget.

Jeff Rich, drummer from rock band Status Quo, visited Babington House School in Chislehurst on Monday.

The world-renowned drummer took the class in order to teach the students about the history of percussion instruments.

According to the school, Rich not only provided a fabulous insight into the skill involved in playing the drums, but also gave pupils the opportunity to join in.

A whole range of percussion instruments such as tambourines, maracas and bells were used in the session.

Rich said: "The whole idea of my master class is to inspire students to learn an instrument and if I achieve that, then my job is done.
