St Mary Cray woman invented car attack to get back at friend

A woman has been fined after claiming she was assaulted to get revenge following an argument with a friend.

Alice Hall, 23, of Kevington Close, St Mary Cray, contacted claimed she had been seriously attacked on April 18 as she was given a lift home from a night out.

She said her friend, a man, hit her in the mouth before throwing her out of the car and further assaulting her. Police arrested a 22-year-old on suspicion of GBH.

Hall later admitted she made up the allegation to get back at him following an argument in the car. She pleaded not guilty to wasting police time, but was found guilty at Bexley Magistrates Court on August 27. Hall was fined a total of £520.
