New style of meeting between councillors and residents to take place at Shortlands

The Shortlands Residents’ Association (SRA) is to launch a new style of open meeting between councillors and residents next Saturday (October 6).

The meeting, which will run from 10.30am until noon, will be held at the Harris Primary Academy Shortlands, and will cover a number of local issues as well as developments in Bromley Town Centre.

It will bring together residents of any age with councillors Mary Cooke, Aisha Cuthbert and Nicola Dykes, giving those in Shortlands a chance to meet and question their councillors face to face in a friendly and informal setting.

SRA chairman Mark Dempsey said: “We really hope this new style meeting will give local councillors and residents a golden opportunity to meet and discuss matters which mean the most to them in their daily lives.

“The SRA is looking at how we might attract and communicate with new members, particularly those with families and school-age children.”
