Spring cleaning reveals grenade

A HOUSE was cordoned off after a grenade and rifle ammunition was found inside a cupboard. Police were called to a house, which was being cleaned, in Glanfield Road, Beckenham, on March 23 at 10am.

A HOUSE was cordoned off after a grenade and rifle ammunition was found inside a cupboard.

Police were called to a house, which was being cleaned, in Glanfield Road, Beckenham, on March 23 at 10am.

The immediate area was cordoned off, and the London Fire Brigade and Ambulance were put on standby.

The grenade was examined and found to be empty, and the rifle rounds were removed from the house.

The cordon was taken down at 11.15am.
