Bromley High School Year 6 Enterprise Day

Actor, director and academic speak

Speakers from the worlds of education, theatre and television inspired pupils at a Bromley school during an enterprise day.

Bromley High School, an independent girls’ school in Bickley, had invited a range of speakers to talk to Year 6 pupils.

Dr Lucia Garcia, programme director at the London School of Economics, gave the girls advice about teamwork and listening to others. Writer and director Blanche McIntyre, actor Ed Stoppard and TV script supervisor Valerie Letley talked about their careers.

The girls then had a task: to come up with a programme, background, props and makeup ideas for a production of Peter Pan, and to create and film a trailer for it. They then presented their work to parents and fellow pupils.

Claire Dickerson, head of Bromley High Junior School, said: “This has been a fantastic learning experience, full of challenges and problems to overcome.

“The girls embraced all the tasks put to them.”
