Social media postings made after alleged child abduction in Bromley

Officers say that after investigating they could find no evidence of an abduction

Police in Bromley say that are aware of postings being shared on social media sites around the attempted abduction of a child in Sainsburys in the area.

Officers from Bromley Police say that the force has conducted a full investigation, examined CCTV from the location and spoken to the person who made the initial posting and have been able to ascertain that there was no abduction attempt.

Bromley Police’s Deputy Borough Commander Parm Sandhu said: “I can fully understand that anyone reading or receiving the contents contained in this posting would be concerned, however I am keen to reassure them that it is false information.

“I would actively encourage you to pass this reassurance onto anyone who you know may have received the information, or have forwarded it on in good faith”.
