AS children and dog walkers enjoyed the wintry scenes in Kent this week, weather experts warned that the Arctic snap could continue with temperatures dropping to lows of -8C.

AS children and dog walkers enjoyed the wintry scenes in Kent this week, weather experts warned that the Arctic snap could continue with temperatures dropping to lows of -8C.

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for London and the South East, urging commuters to be wary of icy conditions on roads and pavements in the coldest winter the UK has seen for 13 years.

Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich escaped much of the snow on Monday but nearby Dartford and Gravesend parks were dusted with snow of up to 2cm.
