A PHOTOGRAPHER who has snapped Margaret Thatcher and Nelson Mandella has been commissioned to display his work on a mural of a new spa.

Bob Tuthill, 60, has displayed his work entitled 'Happy and Proud' at The Spa in Beckenham, which has just undergone a £1.3 million refurbishment.

The 100-sq-metre wall was set aside for an art feature by Kiaran Hall, the arts development manager at Bromley Mytime, who gave the brief that the mural should be 3D and with a people theme.

Mr Tuthill, from Beckenham, produced black and white photographs of Bromley families consisting of six large panels to be cut out and mounted on the walls.

The work was put in place earlier this month by exhibition company Philips Colour days before the grand opening on Saturday, March 8 by Beckenham MP Jacqui Lait.
