A WOMAN has been arrested by police investigating the murder of a private detective more than 20 years ago.

A 50-year-old woman, who has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, is the sixth person to be held in connection with the murder of Daniel Morgan in Sydenham.

Mr Morgan, 37, was found with an axe in his head in the car park of the Golden Lion pub in Sydenham Road on March 10, 1987.

Four men have been charged with Mr Morgan's murder and a fifth man has been charged with peverting the course of justice. All five are due to appear at the Old Bailey on October 5.
