A serial shoplifter who stole microwave meals, jalapeno peppers and 19 packets of steak has been handed a 20 week suspended prison sentence.

Charlotte May, 35, of Chisley Close, in Beckenham, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and receiving stolen goods at Bromley Magistrates Court last week.

She was arrested on January 2 at a block of flats, in Chipperfield Road, St Pauls Cray, where officers found her trying to sell a large quantity of stolen goods.

CCTV at Co-op in Carlton Parade, Orpington, showed May stealing microwave meals, chocolate, jalapenos, chewing gum and canned food.

She was also found carrying nine pairs of designer glasses stolen from Specsavers.

Police arrested her again 10 days later after she grabbed 19 packets of steak from Marks and Spencer, in Beckenham.
