A SCHOOL sent an alert out to head teachers across the borough after two of its male students were approached by a pair of men.

At 7.45am last Friday, a dark green, older Ford small van with two men reportedly drew up to two students from Ravens Wood School in Croydon Road, a one way street near Focus DIY, Coney Hall.

The boys described the driver as an older man, of average build with short grey hair.

The other man was in his early 20s, of slim build with a light grey tracksuit.

They suggested the boys should look in the back of the van after pulling up beside them after asking them if they wanted to deliver some papers. The boys declined.

Ravens Wood School, in Oakley Road, Bromley, refused to comment on the incident. The school sent the alert to Bromley council to forward to all the borough schools, "including independent ones", it read.

A Bromley council spokesperson said: "There is an alert system that alerts us to anything that might be significant. There is a fine line between alarming people and drawing attention to something that might be suspicious.
