A CHARITY marked its £2.5 million project for caring for the terminally-ill at a royal reception in the St James's Palace state apartments.

St Christopher's Hospice launched its 40th anniversary project last month at a reception with their patron Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra.

Hundreds of supporters attended the launch on November 25 to hear how the new campaign would enable the Sydenham-based hospice to develop its services throughout south-east London.

Throughout its 40-year history, St Christopher's has been a pioneer in end of life care, currently caring for over 40 inpatients and 800 people in their own homes.

The charity is just £300,000 away from its target which will go towards giving patients more choice and control over their palliative care.

To help St Christopher's achieve their fundraising target phone the campaign office on 020 8768 4575.
