Fiorentin Stanciu, 32, of Hamilton Road, Brent and Viorel-Catalin Lita, 20, of no fixed address, both pleaded guilty to burglary.

Stanciu was sentenced to 20 months in prison, while Lita was handed 12 months at a young offender institution at Croydon Crown Court on July 18.

The pair now face deportation as they received custodial sentences of 12 months or more.

Police were called to Ridgeway Drive just before 10pm on May 21, after receiving reports of burglars at the scene.

Officers stopped Stanciu and Lita in nearby Burnt Ash Lane after they were seen discarding something in bushes.

Jewellery recovered from the bushes was confirmed to have come from the burglary, and fragments of glass matching the crime scene were found on their clothing.
