A lorry has become stuck under a bridge in Orpington for the second time in a month.

The HGV is currently blocking the A232 Crofton Road/Station Road causing traffic tailbacks and delays to train services at Orpington Station.

The official Twitter account for Transport for London’s traffic updates said: “A HGV is stuck under the rail bridge on Station Rd (Orpington) AGAIN!! Expect delays in the area.”

Southeastern are warning certain trains, including those from Charing Cross, could face delays of 10 minutes.

Commuters have also taken to Twitter to express their dismay, with Chris Watts tweeting: “Great! All trains through #Orpington are up the spout as some idiot has struck the bridge with his lorry!”

This is the second time in a month an incident like this has happened, as another lorry found itself wedged under the bridge on July 1.
