RESIDENTS will be able to compare average rent levels across their borough thanks to a new interactive website.

The London Rents Map shows average rents for private accommodation for each postcode area in the capital, based on actual market rents, not prices posted by estate agents.

It also provides a wide range of advice and useful information for tenants and landlords.

More than 650,000 households in the capital rent homes in the private market, making London's private rented sector by far the largest of any region in England.
