FORMULA One ace Lewis Hamilton drew in the crowds for a spectacular day of racing.
Thousands of fans visited Brands Hatch to meet the championship leader who completed some blistering demonstration laps in his McClaren Mercedes F1 car.
It was followed by DTM touring car racing featuring Bromley-born Gary Paffett who is Hamilton's F1 test driver. Paffett managed a creditable 7th in the DTM despite being in last year's car.
Hamilton said: "We're very lucky we have four very strong drivers in the team and they all play a major role in developing the car.
"Sometimes Gary and Pedro take a lot of pressure off myself and Heikki when we are recovering all the time. They also come to the races individually and often they will do the test drives.
"But also they bring a lot of new ideas. It's always great to have fresh ideas in the team for development and feedback on the car and plans for moving the car forward, so they play an important part."
With Paffett tied up with DTM duty, Hamilton and Kovalainen clocked up 1547km testing last Friday at Monza for when the F1 series heads to Italy on September 14.
