STAFF are celebrating being the first in the borough to be included in a Michelin-starred pub guide.

Head chef Arton Hafa is delighted The Crown, in Plaistow Lane, Bromley, is the newest addition to the 2010 edition of Michelin's Eating Out in Pubs, which was published last Wednesday.

He said: "We try to use the best ingredients. I go to the markets myself and pick all my produce, from the fish market in Billingsgate to the veg market and the meat market. Our menu changes on a daily basis as well so we keep it interesting although we still have signature dishes. I love working here, especially when I get good feedback."

The Crown is the first pub to be included in the book which includes 573 of the best pubs serving good food in Britain and Ireland.

Manager Peter Vials said: "We are very pleased about it. We work very hard and try our best. The quality of the produce is very high - the chef does all the butchering on site and cleans all the fish here.

"That's the route we want to be taking, it's a bit different to what everybody else does.
