Midwives at the Princess Royal University Hospital will launch themselves from the top of the O2 Arena as they take on a 160ft bungee jump for charity on Sunday.

Robyn Dalby and Sara White aim to raise cash to equip the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity (SANDS) room currently under construction at the maternity unit, in Farnborough Common.

Both midwives have suffered their own terrible losses and known how valued this new room will be for bereaved families at the hospital.

Robyn said: “We hope the new room will make a difficult experience more beatable, as well as raise the profile of SANDS.”

The pair will take the plunge at 9.30am and are still looking for generous people to donate for their efforts, which also includes organising a casino night, in Petts Wood, on June 1.

Sara added: “Any donation, however big or small, would appreciated and will help in so many ways, touching so many hearts.”
