A POLICE officer has been arrested following allegations that he raped a woman while on duty.
The woman made the claims after the officer, in his 30s, attended a domestic incident at her house in Bromley last Saturday.
She alleges she was left alone with the policeman after her boyfriend was arrested and that he then forced her to perform a sex act on him.
A Met spokesperson said: "An allegation of sexual assault was made on Saturday 19 September and an officer was immediately arrested and suspended."
The officer was taken to a south London police station, and later bailed to return in early November pending further inquiries by officers from the Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS).
The allegations came just four days before a Bromley police officer admitted killing grandmother Sandy Simpson when his speeding patrol car knocked her down while he was delivering a birthday card to his sister.
Malcolm Searles, 24, from Swanley, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving at Southwark Crown Court on Tuesday and faces a maximum sentence of 14 years. He was dismissed from Bromley police in April following the incident which happened on August 23 last year.
