Police say an 85-year-old woman who went missing from her home in Penge on Wednesday morning has been found ‘safe and well’.

Lilian Jean Turner, known to her friends as Jean, was last seen at around 9.15am on Wednesday, leaving her home in Sutherland Court, Thesiger Road, in Penge.

Acting Inspector Katey Martin said she may appear to be in a confused state due to her dementia and said officers were ‘extremely concerned’ for her.

But a statement from the Met on Wednesday night said: “Police were appealing for help to find missing Lilian Jean Turner, 85, from Bromley.

“She has since been found safe and well.

“We would like to thank media for their help in publicising this appeal.”
