Pigs from Knockholt animal sanctuary on the run after break-in

Three pigs are believed to be on the loose after an animal sanctuary was broken into by thieves for the second time in two weeks.

Owner Danny Day, 50, of Jodeen Animal Sanctuary in Sevenoaks Road, Knockholt, says one pig is definitely missing - but that figure could rise to three once he has secured the remaining livestock.

Mr Day said: “It looks like we have three pigs missing.”

An RSPCA spokeswoman said the charity were in contact with the police about how to rescue the escaped animals if seen.

Thieves first targeted the farm last week when they stole fencing.

A Bromley Police spokesperson said: “People have reported it to us that they have seen (a pig) out and about.

“I think we have had about 10 calls over the last couple of weeks.”
